Testing the pilling performance of modal fiber knitted fabrics with a box-type pilling tester

The box-type pilling tester is used for pilling or snagging caused by normal wear and tear. It is equipped with a unique controller, optional standard and other test speeds for testing, and is equipped with a programmable 30rpm reversing system. Box-type pilling tester is widely used in textile pilling test, and has certain requirements for different standards. (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. is a manufacturer, and customers in need are welcome to inquire. Applicable standards: GB/T4802.3, ISO12945.1, BS5811, JISL1076, IWSTM152 Main parameters: 1. Number of pilling boxes: 4; 2. Box size: 235×235×235mm; 3. Cabinet speed: 60±2r/min; 4. Counting range: 1~99999 times; 5. Sample tube: shapeΦ31.5×140mm, 4 pieces/box; 6. Power supply: AC220V±10%, 50Hz, 120W. Modal fiber knitwear is soft, smooth, silky, comfortable to wear, has excellent breathability and moisture absorption, has silk-like luster, bright color and other characteristics. Close-fitting knitted underwear generally requires functions such as comfort, softness, breathability, warmth, elasticity and so on. In order to meet the above requirements, in recent years, in addition to natural fiber cotton, knitted underwear has also used a large number of cellulose fibers with similar functions to cotton fibers. Modal and man-made fibers are now the most used. Test principle: Put three samples of the same size into the tester equipped with standard cork, the samples roll in the cylinder with stirring rod, and rub against other samples or the wall of the cylinder, resulting in pilling. Usually, take it out after 30min of high-speed free rotation. After the excess debris is sucked by a vacuum cleaner, under standard visual conditions, compare it with the standard sample, and evaluate the pilling and pilling of the fabric by grades, grade 1, grade 5. Well, there are half levels allowed.

What Are the ISTA Standard Tests and ISTA Testing Equipment?
ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) standard tests are globally recognized transportation packaging test procedures designed to evaluate the safety and reliability of products and their packaging throughout the logistics chain. By simulating real-world transportation conditions such as drops, vibration, impact, stacking, and compression, ISTA testing helps identify potential packaging weaknesses before products enter large-scale distribution. ISTA testing equipment—including drop testers, vibration testers, incline impact machines, and compression testers—plays a critical role in accurately reproducing these conditions under laboratory settings. Proper selection and use of ISTA-compliant equipment enable manufacturers to reduce transportation damage, lower return costs, enhance packaging design, and improve customer confidence in product quality and logistics safety.
