Evaluation of anti-pilling and anti-snatch properties of fabrics

In the process of wearing and washing, clothing is often subjected to external forces such as rubbing and friction, which causes the parts with more stress to be easily ground and pilled, while filament fabrics are easy to cause the fibers to be drawn out of the cloth or hooked off and exposed on the surface of the fabric. , forming a hooking phenomenon. The phenomenon of fuzzing, pilling and hooking of the fabric not only makes the appearance of the garment worse, but also obviously affects its intrinsic quality and wearing performance. There are many factors that affect the pilling and hooking of fabrics, mainly including fiber properties, yarn and fabric structure, and finishing. 1. Fiber properties Natural fibers (except wool) and regenerated fibers have low strength and poor wear resistance, and are not easy to ball even after being raised, so the phenomenon of pilling is slight; synthetic fibers have high strength, no fiber curl, poor cohesion, The elongation at break is large, coupled with good wear resistance, the fibers are easy to slide out of the surface of the fabric, and it is not easy to fall off after forming small balls, so the pilling phenomenon is serious, especially for nylon, polyester, polypropylene and other fabrics. The elasticity of the fibers determines the hook resistance of the fabric. Generally, fibers with good elasticity can use their own elasticity to ease the hooking effect of external forces, and their hook resistance is good. 2. Different fabric properties Fiber fabrics have different pilling and hooking properties. For the same fiber fabric, these properties will also vary. Analyzing the reasons, the influence of fiber length, thickness, fabric structure and finishing is obvious. Generally, fine and short-fiber fabrics are more prone to pilling than thick and long-fiber fabrics; fabrics with a tight structure are more resistant to pilling and snagging than loose fabrics; fabrics with shorter floating lines in the fabric structure are better than those with longer floating lines. The fabric has good resistance to pilling and snagging. After finishing processing can improve the phenomenon of pilling and hooking. The anti-hooking of woven fabrics is better than that of knitted fabrics. Hook resistant. 3. Detection method The anti-pilling and anti-hook performance of fabrics or garments are mostly evaluated by the method of comparing the standard sample photos. The samples that have been worn for a certain period of time or have been tested by a pilling and pilling instrument can be used. Compared with the original sample, it is generally divided into 5 grades, grade 5 is the best, basically no pilling phenomenon, grade 1 is the worst, the pilling phenomenon is serious. The evaluation method of fabric hooking is similar to pilling. It is graded by comparing the real object and the standard sample. It is divided into 5 grades, 5 is the best, and 1 is the worst.
