What is a Constant Temperature and Humidity Chamber?


A Constant Temperature and Humidity Chamber is also known as Programmable Humidity  Test Chamber, Constant Temperature Machine.


For conditioning of samples prior to testing. It also can be used for a variety of materials of high - low temperature alternating test. The test temperature, humidity and time can be programmed.


This checks their durability, stability and performance. It has many uses. It can test materials, electronic products, automotive parts, food and pharmaceuticals.


What are the Five Major Systems?


Constant temperature and humidity test chamber is composed of five main systems, these systems work together to achieve precise control and maintenance of temperature and humidity. The following is the structural composition of the constant temperature and humidity test chamber and its function introduction:


Control system


Control system is the core part of the constant temperature and humidity test chamber, which determines the rate of temperature rise and fall of the test chamber, precision and other important indicators. Modern constant temperature and humidity test chamber mostly use PID control algorithm, a few use PID and fuzzy control combined control mode, in order to achieve more accurate and stable temperature and humidity control.


Refrigeration system


The refrigeration system is mainly responsible for reducing the temperature inside the test chamber. It usually adopts mechanical refrigeration, that is, vapour compression refrigeration. Refrigeration system by the compressor, condenser, throttle mechanism and evaporator composed of closed-loop refrigeration cycle. Depending on the test requirements, the refrigeration method can be divided into single-stage refrigeration and cascade refrigeration (two-stage refrigeration). For the need to test the lower temperature (such as -40 ℃ below) of the sample, generally recommended the use of compound stack refrigeration.


Heating System


The heating system consists of a high-power resistance wire, which is used to raise the temperature inside the test chamber. Since the test chamber requires a high rate of warming, the power of the heating system is relatively large. Heaters are also installed on the bottom plate of the test chassis to ensure uniform temperature distribution.


Humidity System


Humidity system is divided into humidification and dehumidification two subsystems. Humidification is usually steam humidification method, that is, low-pressure steam is injected directly into the test space for humidification. This method of humidification is fast, sensitive control. Dehumidification mainly mechanical refrigeration dehumidification and desiccant dehumidification of two kinds. Most of the integrated test chamber using mechanical refrigeration dehumidification, by cooling the air to the dew point temperature below, so that more than the saturation humidity of the moisture condensation and precipitation, thereby reducing humidity.


Air Circulation System


The air circulation system consists of a centrifugal fan and a motor that drives its operation. It provides circulation of air within the test chamber to ensure uniform distribution of temperature and humidity. Effective operation of the air circulation system is essential to improve the accuracy and reliability of the test results.
