How to Conduct GT-C29 UV Aging Test Chamber

The GT-C29 Intelligent UV Accelerated Weathering Tester is a high-tech device designed to simulate the long-term effects of natural weather conditions such as sunlight, rain, and dew on various materials. By using UVA-340 fluorescent UV lamps, it replicates the damage caused by ultraviolet light, such as fading, cracking, and discoloration, over a short period of time. This powerful chamber can mimic years of natural exposure in just a matter of days or weeks, making it essential for industries that require product durability testing.

In this guide, we will walk you through how to conduct a UV aging test using the GT-C29 UV Aging Test Chamber (Cabinet Type), covering key steps from setup to completion.

Understanding the GT-C29 UV Aging Test Chamber

The GT-C29 Intelligent UV Accelerated Weathering Tester employs UVA-340 fluorescent UV lamps to replicate the harmful effects of sunlight, rain, and dew. This machine operates by combining ultraviolet rays, rain, high temperatures, condensation, and darkness in a cyclical process. By repeating these cycles, the device can simulate years of weathering in just a few days or weeks. The resulting damage includes color fading, discoloration, chalkiness, cracking, muddiness, bubbling, embrittlement, loss of intensity, and oxidation.

1.Connecting pipes

(1) Overflow pipe: when the water level of the tank is too high, the water will be discharged from the overflow pipe.

(2) Inlet pipe: connect to the water source to fill the tank with water.

(3) Drainage pipe: used to discharge the water tank.

2. Add water

Turn on the water source, open the door, you can see add water automatically. When the side of the water level meter stops rising, you need to turn off the water supply.

3. Powering On the Machine

Turn on the side power master switch, then turn on the front power switch.

4.Test

(1) Click on the screen to enter the main interface, click on "SET PARAMETER" to enter the parameter settings.

There are four test environments to choose from: TEMP, UV LAMP, HUMIDITY and SPRAY.

Here choose TEMP, UV LAMP.

A. In the "TEMP" column, click to open and set the temperature: 45 ℃.

B. In the "UV LAMP" column click to open and set the irradiance in the Irradiance column: 0.55

C. In the "Run time" column, set the test time: 5M

D. Click "Run View" to return to the test interface.

(2) Open the door of the box, put the specimen in, and close the door.

(3) Click "Start", and then click "RE-RUN" to start the test.

      RE-RUN: Start over with a new test.

      RUN: The test stops in the middle. Continue the test.

(4) Water level, lamp life, UV lamp, Temp of the four indicators will light up green, indicating normal operation of the machine.

(5) During the test, you can click "PARAMETER VIEW" to view the set parameters, click "LAMP LIFE" UV lamp life and so on.

(6) Arrive at the set test time, the equipment will automatically stop.

Open the door, take out the specimen to observe.
