Ozone aging test method and result judgment1

Experimental significance The content of ozone in the atmosphere is very small, but it is the main factor for rubber cracking. Therefore, the ozone conditions in the atmosphere are simulated and strengthened in the test environment, and the effect of ozone on rubber can be studied. The law can quickly identify and evaluate the resistance of rubber to ozone aging. Performance and anti-ozonant protective effect, and then take effective anti-aging measures to improve the service life of rubber products. Basic knowledge about ozone Ozone is a light blue and fishy gas at room temperature and pressure. The molecular formula is O3, It has strong oxidizing ability and bactericidal properties. Ozone is very oxidizing, and ozonated air is corrosive to almost all metals except gold and platinum. Aluminum, zinc and lead will be strongly oxidized in contact with ozone, but chromium-containing ferroalloys are basically not corroded by ozone. Ozone also has a strong corrosive effect on non-metallic materials. In ozone generating equipment, ordinary rubber cannot be used as sealing material, and silicone rubber or acid-resistant rubber with strong corrosion resistance must be used. The test method simulates and strengthens the ozone conditions in the atmosphere. The samples are exposed to air containing a constant ozone concentration and a constant temperature test chamber, and the cracks of the samples are checked at a predetermined time. Test Equipment Ozone Aging Test Chamber Test Principle The sample is exposed to a test chamber with constant ozone concentration and constant temperature, and the cracking of the sample is checked at a predetermined time. The following three methods can be selected: A. After exposure for a specified time and a specified strain, check whether there is cracking, and determine the degree of cracking if necessary. B Under an arbitrary predetermined tensile strain, the earliest cracking time is measured. C For any specified exposure time, the critical strain is determined. Test standard GB 7762-03, DIN53509-1, ISO1431/1 Vulcanized or thermoplastic rubber Ozone crack resistance test item Test conditions Ozone concentration pphm: 25, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000 Test temperature ℃ 40±2 (Other temperatures can be selected, but can not exceed 60) elongation 20% (other elongations can also be used) The sample is installed and the sample is placed in an ozone-free dark room at standard temperature for 24-48h after stretching. The sample state adjustment test piece is placed in an ozone environment for 15 minutes after installation. 2. Rubber material requirements and tests 8.1 Rubber project test conditions Ozone concentration ppm test temperature ℃ 25±3. The sample is installed in the use state or similar installation state, and a certain load is specified for some parts, such as: storage around a 30mm radius for special profiles;≤The 5mm profiled material is stretched by 20%-25% with a fixture or tested around a circular column with a radius of 5 times the thickness of the sample. Sample state adjustment The test piece is placed in an ozone environment 15 minutes after installation.
