Quality comparison and selection of anti-smog masks

With the advent of winter, every time when the air pollution is severe, citizens will always use masks to block the smog when going out. At present, there are many brands and types of anti-smog masks on the market, and it is often difficult to buy them. In order to help consumers understand the protection effect and comfort of the products, the Shanghai Consumer Protection Commission has carried out the anti-smog masks on the market. A comparative test. 1 Sample situation and test items In this comparative test, 40 anti-smog masks were purchased from hypermarkets, e-commerce platforms and other channels, covering well-known brands such as 3M and Ludun. Among them, there are 6 offline physical stores and 34 online e-commerce platforms; 37 disposable nonwoven masks and 3 replaceable cotton masks; the price ranges from 0.95 to 19.47 yuan each. At present, there are many kinds of masks on the market, and their functions and occasions are different. This comparative test takes into account the consumer’s demand for protective masks in the daily air pollution environment, and refers to the 'National Basic Safety Technical Specifications for Textile Products' and the latest GB/T 32610-2016 'Daily Protective Masks Technical Specifications' and other related The national standard tests and compares the quality of anti-smog masks on the market, mainly for product safety, respiratory resistance and filtration efficiency, and conducts star ratings. 2 Analysis of the test situation According to the results of this comparative test: the safety of the masks tested meets the requirements of national standards; the air permeability performance is quite different; the filtration efficiency of 3 samples is low; the product price and quality are not necessarily proportional; the same brand There are obvious differences in quality between different models of products. 2.1 Safety has passed the test requirements. Because masks are mostly made of non-woven or cotton materials, and consumers are directly in contact with the mouth and nose when wearing the masks, this comparative test examines the formaldehyde, pH and decomposability of the samples. Safety indicators such as aromatic amine dyes are tested. The results showed that all 40 samples met the requirements of national standards. 2.2 There is a big difference in air permeability (respiratory resistance) People will feel chest tightness and breathlessness when wearing masks. This is mainly due to the large respiratory resistance of masks. In order to compare the air permeability of the samples, the inhalation and expiration resistance were tested separately in this comparative test. The results show that the respiratory resistance of the 40 samples meets the requirements of relevant standards, but the test data is quite different. The highest expiratory resistance is 144.1 Pa and the lowest is 32.6 Pa. The difference between the two is about 3.5 times of 111.5 Pa; the highest inspiratory resistance is 171.3 Pa, the lowest is 68.8 Pa, the difference between the two is 102.5 Pa nearly 1.5 times. Among them, 3 samples performed well and reached five stars. For example, the Yamazaki three-dimensional masks (the nominal brand name is Yamazaki), which is nominally distributed by Tianjin Yamazaki Paper Products Co., Ltd., have exhalation resistance and inhalation resistance of 37.9 Pa and 73.6 respectively Pa, the respiratory resistance is small, the performance is good; the performance of 3 samples is average, with two stars (see Table 1 for details), such as the nominal PM2.5 haze mask FACE MASK (standard) produced by Qingdao Hainuo Biological Engineering Co., Ltd. The brand is called Heinuo), its expiratory resistance and inhalation resistance are relatively high, close to the standard reference limit, respectively 144.1 Pa and 171.3 Pa (standard requirements: expiratory resistance ≤ 145 Pa, inhalation resistance ≤ 175 Pa ), the performance is average. 2.3 Low filtration efficiency of 3 samples. Filtration efficiency is the core indicator of the performance of anti-smog masks, which directly reflects the pros and cons of masks. In this comparative test, the salt filtration efficiency and oil filtration efficiency of the samples were tested separately. The salt test mainly tests the protective effect of masks on fine particles such as dust, smoke, acid mist, spray paint mist, and microorganisms. The oil test mainly tests the protective effects of masks on oil fume, oil mist, asphalt fume, diesel engine exhaust, etc. The test results showed that the salt filtration efficiency of 40 samples was 99.6% at the highest and 85.7% at the lowest; the oil filtration efficiency was at 94.6% at the highest and 73.2% at the lowest. There are 3 outstanding performances, reaching five stars (see Table 2 for details), such as the Dettol smart masks (the nominal brand is Dettol, the nominal specification model is RB030VL), its salt and oily filtration efficiency are 99.5% and 93.7%, respectively, which perform well. The three samples performed poorly and all showed low filtration efficiency (see Table 3 for details), such as the M950V anti-particulate mask produced by Mingdian Shangpin (Beijing) Information Technology Co., Ltd. (the nominal brand is Mingdian Shangpin) , The nominal specification model is M950V), the salt and oily indexes of its filtration efficiency are 85.7% and 77.3%, respectively, which do not meet the standard requirements (standard requirements: salt filtration efficiency ≥90%, oil filtration efficiency ≥80%) . In addition, if the 3D nano-film mask (the nominal brand is Netease Yanxuan, the nominal specification model is 3919, one size) produced by Hangzhou Yuanshen Technology Co., Ltd. (now Hangzhou Netease Yanxuan Trading Co., Ltd.), its oily filter The efficiency is low, only 73.2% [The company replied that the implementation standard of this product is T/CTCA 1-2015 'PM2.5 Protective Masks' (group standard), and according to experts, this standard is only for salt filtration efficiency There are requirements, but no requirements for oiliness]. In addition, this comparative test also found that product price and quality are not directly related. Some high-priced products are not ideal in terms of filtration effect and respiratory resistance and other major performance indicators, while low-priced products perform well.
