What are the characteristics of different types of xenon lamp aging testers?

There are many brands and types of xenon lamp aging testers. At present, domestic and imported products coexist in the market. According to their heat dissipation methods, there can be different classification standards. It is a question that must be considered. At present, xenon lamp aging testers can be divided into water-cooled, air-cooled and desktop xenon lamp aging testers according to the test standard. The differences between them are explained below. 1. Because the power of the xenon lamp aging tester is quite different from that of the water-cooled xenon lamp, the air-cooled test chamber uses three air-cooled lamps to replace one water-cooled lamp, and the water tower device can be omitted and the equipment structure can be simplified. The three lamps are placed horizontally on the top of the inner tank and irradiated vertically on the sample surface below. There is no special restriction on the state of the sample material. The radiation intensity:≤300W/㎡, relatively suitable for“Indoor products”A variety of material product tests. 2. The xenon lamp aging tester refers to the use of water-cooled xenon lamp tubes as the light source, and the box structure is a standard vertical type. Due to the water cooling cycle of the lamps, a circulating water tower device is installed on the top of the box. A water-cooled lamp tube is placed vertically inside the test box, and the lamp tube is surrounded by clips. The clamp and the bottom turntable are integrated to form a sample rack for the test, and the whole is a cylindrical structure. Before the test, clamp the sample material on the sample holder, and let the light radiated from the lamp irradiate the surface of the sample. At the beginning of the test, the turntable begins to rotate, and the radiation source is aged. Radiation intensity:≤1200W/㎡, relatively suitable for“outdoor products”'s test. 3. The desktop xenon lamp weather resistance test box is also called desktop type, convenient type and simple type. It is a kind of equipment that can be placed on the table for aging test. It can be said to be an air-cooled mini version. The desktop uses an air-cooled lamp tube or a water-cooled lamp tube on the top of the inner liner to irradiate the product and photo-aging. Because of its simple structure and convenient use, it is widely used in many scientific research units and colleges and universities. The air-cooled and water-cooled heat dissipation methods of the xenon lamp aging test machine have their own advantages. The water-cooled type can only be carried out when there is enough water source. Because the machine is not limited by site conditions, the heat dissipation effect is not as obvious as water cooling, but it is convenient; no matter which heat calculation method can be carried out normally, the experiment is feasible.

What Are the ISTA Standard Tests and ISTA Testing Equipment?
ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) standard tests are globally recognized transportation packaging test procedures designed to evaluate the safety and reliability of products and their packaging throughout the logistics chain. By simulating real-world transportation conditions such as drops, vibration, impact, stacking, and compression, ISTA testing helps identify potential packaging weaknesses before products enter large-scale distribution. ISTA testing equipment—including drop testers, vibration testers, incline impact machines, and compression testers—plays a critical role in accurately reproducing these conditions under laboratory settings. Proper selection and use of ISTA-compliant equipment enable manufacturers to reduce transportation damage, lower return costs, enhance packaging design, and improve customer confidence in product quality and logistics safety.
