Cobb Test Paper Absorption Tester GT-N07 - A Comprehensive Guide
Paper and paperboard, as widely used materials, exhibit water absorption as a crucial performance indicator. The determination of water absorption is of significant importance for assessing the suitability of paper across various applications, quality control, and product development.
The Cobb absorbency tester is a specialised instrument designed to measure the surface water absorption properties of paper and paperboard
What is the Cobb Test Paper Absorption Tester GT-N07
The GT-N07 Cobb Absorption Tester is designed to evaluate the water absorption properties of paper and paperboard. It is specifically used to determine the COBB water absorbency of various paper products, including paperboard, gray cardboard, art paper, and similar materials..
Our Cobb Test Paper Absorption Tester measures the surface water absorption of sized paper and paperboard under standardized conditions. However, it is not suitable for testing loose papers (e.g., newsprint), unsized papers (e.g., blotting paper), or other highly absorbent paper types.

Operation
Specimen weighing.
Before placing the specimen, make sure that the ring surface of the cylinder and the rubber pad in contact with the specimen are dry and clean.
Measure 100 ml of water in a measuring cup and pour it into the cylinder.
Then place the weighed specimen on the ring surface of the cylinder.
Place the gland cover on the sample and tighten by twisting the handle.
Rotate the cylinder 180 degrees.
Turn on the stopwatch to time (1 minute).
10-15 seconds before the end of the water absorption, turn the cylinder right side up.
Turn the handle to release the gland and remove the specimen.
Place the specimen on the pre-laid absorbent paper.
When the paper is saturated, a new sheet of paper can be placed on top.
Dry the remaining water on the surface of the specimen by rolling the specimen back and forth with a metal roller within 4 seconds.
Remove the specimen and weigh it.
