In the past, coal was used for heating in northern China, especially in rural areas, and the large amount of sulfur dioxide and dust particles produced easily caused air pollution. In order to improve air quality, clean energy transformation projects such as 'coal to electricity' electric floor heating, 'coal to gas' and other clean energy transformation projects are being carried out in the north. The proportion of clean heating in Beijing is high in Beijing, and the task of 'coal-to-clean energy' in 700 villages has been over-fulfilled. Within this year, the six districts of the city and the southern plains will be basically 'free of coal'. The clean energy transformation of coal-fired boilers with more than 10,000 steam tons and the low-nitrogen treatment of gas-fired boilers with more than 19,000 steam tons have been completed. It is reported that in the heating season of 2017 to 2018, Beijing’s new heating area was 30 million square meters, and the total heating area reached 840 million square meters. In recent years, with Beijing’s vigorous implementation of the “coal-to-electricity” and “coal-to-gas” projects, the consumption of natural gas has increased rapidly. In 2016, the consumption of natural gas has reached 16 billion cubic meters, of which more than 60% is used for heating. In the past, nearly one-quarter of PM2.5 in Tianjin came from coal-burning, and prevention and control of coal-burning pollution was the top priority for air pollution control. To this end, Tianjin has upgraded the high-voltage power grid, vigorously promoted the 'coal-to-electricity' project, and replaced coal with clean heating power. Vigorous renovation and vigorous promotion of clean energy have made air treatment effects begin to appear. By 2020, Beijing’s plain areas will basically be “free of coal”; except for the use of anthracite briquette in mountainous areas in Tianjin, the heating bulk coal in other areas will be basically cleared; in Hebei’s plains and rural areas, heating bulk coal will be basically cleared, Shanba The total amount of coal used for heating in rural areas in remote areas is controlled within 8 million tons. According to incomplete statistics from the National Energy Administration, more than 4 million households in 28 cities in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and surrounding areas have achieved clean heating through various methods. At the same time, the 'Clean Heating Plan for Northern Regions in Winter' jointly compiled by ten national ministries and commissions will be issued soon. In the next five years, funds from all parties will be guided to participate in clean heating construction through multiple channels, and a complete clean heating industry system will be gradually established. The goal of 'coalification' is gradually becoming a reality.
