Particle size and particle size distribution are important parameters in material production and materials research, and have a key impact on the physical and chemical properties of materials. As the research on modern new materials such as nanomaterials has gradually deepened and has been widely used, particle size analysis technology has also received more and more attention. At present, particle size analysis methods mainly include sedimentation method, sieving method, light scattering method, electron microscope method, etc. Among them, the laser particle size analyzer using the light scattering method has the advantages of wide particle size measurement range, large dynamic range, fast measurement speed, good measurement repeatability, and convenient operation, and is the most widely used particle size detection equipment. The laser diffraction particle size analyzer analyzes the particle size by measuring the scattering spectrum of the particle group and performing data processing on the computer. Phase particles (eg, oil particles in water or water droplets in oil), solid particles and droplets in gas phase media, and the like. In the 1980s, my country began to independently develop laser particle size analyzers, and the particle size analyzer production industry developed rapidly. Up to now, there are many self-developed domestic particle size analyzer products with excellent performance. However, the domestic standards related to particle size analyzers are very imperfect. The existing standards mainly include ISO 13320 particle size analysis laser diffraction method and GB/T 19077-2016 particle size analysis laser diffraction method. The main content of these two standards is the measurement principle of the laser particle size analyzer, the standard operation requirements, and the precautions for use, etc. There is basically no content of the technical performance requirements of the laser particle size analyzer and its inspection method. For the production and sales of laser particle size analyzers, the performance and quality of the instrument itself are the focus of manufacturers and users. In order to unify the technical requirements of laser particle size analyzers in the market, standardize market behaviors such as production and sales, and ensure the accuracy of the measurement results of domestic laser particle size analyzers, relevant departments need to standardize the technical indicators and test methods of laser particle size analyzers. Therefore, the national standard for general technical requirements of laser diffraction particle size analyzer is necessary. The 'General Technical Requirements for Particle Laser Diffraction Particle Size Analyzer' was established on December 24, 2020, and has been drafted recently and has begun to solicit opinions. The deadline is July 5, 2021. This standard specifies general technical requirements such as functional requirements, performance requirements, test methods and inspection rules for laser particle size analyzers based on the principle of laser light scattering (or diffraction), and is applicable to laboratory laser particle size analyzers based on the principle of static light scattering or diffraction. . The implementation of this standard can standardize the production and publicity behavior of instrument manufacturers, facilitate the comparison of particle size results between different laboratories, and help users choose the laser particle size analyzer that suits their needs, which has great social and economic significance.
