Measurement of down imitation ability of down products by rubbing method and turning box method

Down products are favored by consumers for their lightness, softness and warmth. However, down jacket linings and bile materials are difficult to meet the anti-drilling performance while satisfying a certain air permeability. If the lining and guts of the down jacket are improperly selected, it is easy to cause the down feathers to drill out from the clothing fabric during the wearing process, which not only affects the appearance but also affects its warmth retention. How to choose and control the down jacket lining and gall material with certain breathability and anti-drilling performance is a problem faced by every enterprise that produces down jackets. With GB/T14272—The release of the 'Down Clothing' standard in 2011 officially included the anti-drilling down property of fabrics into the assessment scope of down clothing products. Consumers and down product manufacturers pay more and more attention to the anti-drilling down performance of fabrics. Therefore, it is of great practical significance for improving the quality of down products and enhancing the accuracy of the inspection results to compare and analyze various methods of fabric anti-drilling down performance testing and discuss the key control points of testing. Down jacket drill down According to GB/T 14272—2011 'Down clothing' this standard, commonly used fabric anti-drilling test methods are: GB/T 12705.1—2009 'Textiles_Test methods for down resistance of fabrics - Part 1: Friction method', GB/T 12705.2—2009 'Textiles_Test methods for down resistance of fabrics - Part 2: Turn-box method'. And foreign related standards: EN12132-1: 1998, BS EN 12132-1: 1999, DIN EN 12132-1: 1998 'Feathers and Down_Fabrics Test Methods for Anti-Drilling Down Performance Part 1: Friction Method'. Friction method: The fabric is made into a sample bag with a certain size and filled with a certain quality of down. Put the sample bag in a plastic bag of the specified size (the plastic bag is used to collect the filling that is completely drilled from the sample bag), and fix the sample bag together with the plastic bag on the instrument (Figure 1). Squeeze, rub and rub, and count the number of down, feathers and down threads drilled out of the fabric from the inside of the sample bag by the filler to evaluate the down resistance of the fabric. Figure 1 Requirements of the friction method anti-drilling tester: the distance between the fixtures is (44±1) mm, the rotational speed of the driving wheel is 135 r/min, and the distance between the center of the driving wheel and the connection point of the fixture is ( 2 5± 0.5) mm; the plastic bag for the test is made of a thickness of (25±1)μm low-density polyethylene, smooth surface, no pleats, length (240±10)mm, width is (150±10) mm. The accuracy of the balance is 0.1g, and the maximum weighing capacity is 1000g. It is required that the sewing needle used for sewing samples should be household 11-13 size. Turning box method: The fabric is made into a sample bag with a certain size, filled with down and feather fillings of a certain quality, and placed in a test instrument rotating box equipped with hard rubber balls (Figure 2), through the rotating box. Rotate at a constant speed, bring the rubber ball to a certain height, and impact the sample in the box to simulate various extrusion, rubbing, collision and other effects of down products during consumption, and drill from the inside of the sample bag by counting the filling. The number of down, feathers and down filaments of the fabric was used to evaluate the anti-drilling performance of the fabric. Figure 2 Requirements for the anti-drilling down tester by the rotary box method: the internal size of the cube is 450mm×450mm×450mm, the speed is (45±1)r/min, the Shore hardness of the rubber ball is (45±10) A, the quality is (140±5) At least 10 homogeneous nitrile rubber balls of g. The balance accuracy is 0.01g. It is required that the sewing needle used for sewing samples should be household size 11. The detection principles of the two test methods are similar. The friction method is mainly composed of the mixed friction between fabric and fabric, fabric and filler, and the friction trajectory is driven by the instrument and has a certain regularity. Mixed impact and extrusion of fabric and filler.
