Operation steps of the surface moisture resistance tester for medical masks

The surface moisture resistance testing-equipment' target='_blank'>tester for medical masks is used to detect the water repellency of masks, fabrics and other materials, and to evaluate their surface moisture resistance. (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. is the manufacturer, welcome to inquire. The engineer said that the water repellency of the fabric surface was assessed by comparing the surface of the sample with a standard chart. The equipment included a metal frame that allowed distilled water to be sprayed through a nozzle to the sample at 45°and 150 mm below the nozzle to compare the appearance of the specimen with the optional photographic scale. Applicable standards: ISO 4920, BS EN 24920, BS 3702, GB/T 4745, AATCC 22, M&S P23, NEXT 23 Operation steps: 1. Put the sample on a metal ring with a diameter of 152mm, with the front side facing up, to ensure that the surface is flat and wrinkle-free. 2. Place the metal ring with the sample on the stage of the tester, pay attention to the position of the sample when placing it, and ensure that the center of the sample ring is exactly aligned with the center of the spray pattern ring. For some twill, bead or similar striped structures, when placing the sample ring on the stage, the direction of the stripes should be placed diagonally to the direction of water flow. 3. Put 250ml at a temperature of 27±Pour deionized water at 1°C into the funnel of the tester and let it spray over the sample for 25-30 seconds. When pouring deionized water, the beaker should not touch the funnel. If the funnel moves, it will change the spray pattern and shape of the sample. The spray time must be between 25-30 seconds, otherwise the nozzle must be checked to see if its holes are getting larger or blocked. 4. Hold one side of the sample ring, turn the sample face down, tap the other side quickly towards a hard object, and then rotate the sample horizontally by 180°°, hold the original tap and tap the original grip again quickly to knock off the unwetted water droplets on the surface of the sample.

Water Resistance Testing Standards and Methods
Textile water resistance testing evaluates fabrics through three primary methods: hydrostatic pressure (measuring water penetration resistance), spray rating (assessing surface water repellency), and water repellency tests (quantifying water absorption). Hydrostatic pressure testing is critical for high-performance applications like outdoor apparel and diving gear, while spray rating evaluates surface staining for rainwear. Water repellency tests, such as the Bundesmann method, determine overall

What is a Light Fastness Tester?
A Light Fastness Tester accelerates material aging by simulating sunlight (xenon lamps) and moisture to predict long-term durability. Used in textiles, automotive, plastics, and more, it follows AATCC TM 16, ISO 105-B02, and ASTM standards. Features include real-time light control, temperature/humidity regulation, and energy-efficient testing.
What Are the Types of Color Fastness Testing for Fabrics?
Color fastness testing evaluates how well fabrics resist fading or bleeding under conditions like washing, rubbing, light exposure, and perspiration. Key tests include rubbing fastness, washing fastness, light fastness, perspiration fastness, and sublimation fastness. These tests ensure textiles maintain color integrity, prevent health risks, and meet quality standards. Learn about different testing methods and equipment used in the textile industry.
Understanding UV Aging Chambers: Applications, Features, and Advantages
The GT-C29 UV Aging Chamber simulates years of environmental damage in days using UVA-340 lamps, rain, and temperature cycles. Ideal for paints, plastics, automotive, and wood industries, it offers high accuracy, cost efficiency, and safety. Learn how it accelerates R&D and quality control.
How to Choose Light Fastness Tester: Water-Cooled and Air-Cooled
Choosing between water-cooled and air-cooled light fastness testers depends on precision needs, budget, and application. Water-cooled testers (like GESTER GT-3000) offer superior spectral accuracy and stability for rigorous standards (e.g., automotive, coatings). Air-cooled models (like GESTER GT-D02A-1) provide energy efficiency and easier installation for routine QC. This guide compares cooling methods, features, and applications to help you select the optimal tester.
