1. Test standards: GB/T 4802ASTM D2511/D3512/D3514/D4970ISO 12945 summarizes these standards, the determination of fabric pilling performance consists of four test methods, namely random tumbling method, circular trajectory method, modified Martindale Method, pilling box method. 2. Testing equipment: 1. Random tumbling method: Random tumbling pilling tester (refer to Gellowen Random tumbling pilling tester——Hong Kong Co., Ltd.) 2. Circular trajectory method: circular trajectory pilling instrument (refer to Gellowen circular trajectory pilling instrument——Hong Kong Co., Ltd.) 3. Modified Martindale method: Martindale fabric abrasion resistance tester (refer to Gellowen Martindale abrasion resistance tester)——Hong Kong Co., Ltd.) 4. Pilling box method: pilling box (refer to ICI Rolling Box Pilling and Hook Wire Tester——Hong Kong Co., Ltd.) 3. Methods for evaluating pilling: 1. Counting method: Calculate the number of pills in the specified area. 2. Weighing method: Weigh the weight of the hair balls on the fabric and falling. 3. Comparison method of sample photo and test sample: compare and grade the fabric after pilling with the original or pilling standard sample photo that did not participate in the test to determine the degree of pilling of the sample. Pilling degree according to“heavy pilling”arrive“no hairballs”It is divided into five levels from 1 to 5. The smaller the level number, the more serious the pilling. 4. Coordinate representation: use the ordinate to indicate the number of pilling, and the abscissa to indicate the pilling curve of friction time to analyze the degree of pilling and the rate of pilling and falling off. Different test instruments and test methods for the determination of pilling will have different evaluation results. Textile enterprises should adopt corresponding test methods according to customer requirements.
