Working principle and structure analysis of 45°combustibility tester

1. The scope of application of the instrument is used for the determination of the flammability of clothing textiles, measuring the intensity and speed of burning of flammable textiles once they are ignited when worn, and it can also test the damaged area, damaged length and heat exposure of textile fabrics at 45° The number of exposures to the flame when melting to a specified length. 2. Test principle (1) Test for intensity and speed of burning. Under specified conditions, place the sample diagonally at a 45° angle, ignite the sample for 1 second, and burn the sample upward for a certain distance as the evaluation time. A measure of how intense the textile burns. For fabrics with a raised surface, the ignition or melting of the base fabric is used as an additional indicator of the severity of combustion. (2) Damaged area and damage length test. Under the specified test conditions, ignite the textile sample in the direction of 45° to measure the continuous burning and smoldering time, the damaged area and the damaged length of the fabric after burning. (3) Test of the number of exposures to the flame. Under the specified test conditions, ignite the textile sample in the direction of 45°, and measure the number of flame exposures required for the fabric burning 90mm from the lower end of the sample. 3. Description of the test instrument 6.3.1 Flammability tester (1) The flammability tester is a ventilated small room with anti-air flow, equipped with standard ignition tools, a sample holder and an automatic timing device. (2) This air-proof metal test chamber can prevent the circulation of air around the sample holder and the flame, but allows natural ventilation for rapid oxidation. The small chamber is 368mm wide (141/2 inches) × 216mm deep (81/2 inches) × 356mm high (14 inches), and there are twelve 12.7mm (1/2 inch) holes at equal intervals along the back of the upper part closed. There is a ventilation belt at the bottom of the sliding glass door at the front of the small room. (3) The sample is installed in the frame and placed on the sample holder with an inclination angle of 45°. The installation of the sample holder should be able to adjust the thickness between the sample and the front of the flame. There is a pointer, when the sample holder is adjusted correctly, its front part touches the sample. (4) The sample holder is composed of two 1.6mm (1/16 inch) thick metal plates that match each other, and there are clamping devices along the two sides. The specimen is fixed between the two clamping devices, and the plate is loosely nailed by the slot for alignment. Except for the 38mm (11/2 inch) width over the entire length of the sample, the two plates of the sample holder are all covered. The sample holder is supported on the shelf in the windproof test chamber at an angle of 45°, and 5 sample holders should be prepared. (5) The design must allow the sample to be adjusted from the outside of the combustion chamber. (6) The ignition tool is driven by an ejection mechanism and is composed of a gas nozzle with a spaced hypodermic needle, and the gas nozzle is protected by a copper cover. (7) The stop line is tightened from the rimmed bobbin and passed through the wire guide properly installed on the sample frame and on the wall of the small room. The wire tie is allowed to contain an appropriate position, just 127mm (5 inches) from the center point of the ignition and combustion collision on the sample. Inch), use No. 50 mercerized sewing thread for the stop line. (8) A heavy hammer is clamped on the stop line with a clamp, and when it falls, the timer is stopped. (9) The glass door slides in the groove on the front of the small room. The design should be such that the sliding door is fixed in the open position so that it can be inserted into the sample holder. (10) A sensitive fuel control valve regulates the fuel supply in the fuel tank. One end of the control valve is a 12.7mm (half inch) male connector, which is connected to a No. 4 standard butane gas cylinder with a capacity of 0.9kg (2 pounds). (11) The pressure gauge is a U-shaped glass tube with a gas marking line to record the gas pressure sent to the micro burner. (12) The design should be able to facilitate the control of the test, such as energy control and start-up test control. The actuator moves the micro burner to the foremost position, and automatically starts the timer when the flame strikes the sample. When the wire is burned and the heavy hammer falls, the timer is stopped. 4. Brushing device (1) The brushing device is a set of bottom plates on which a trolley is dragged. The trolley runs on two parallel rails on the bottom surface of the bottom plate. The brush is hinged on the back of the bottom plate and applied vertically to the cart with a pressure of 150g (0.33 pounds). (2) The brush consists of two rows of hard nylon bristles arranged staggered left and right. The diameter of the nylon bristles is 0.41mm (0.016 inch) and the length is 19mm (3/4 inch). Each tuft of bristles has 20 nylon bristles. 4 clusters per inch, that is, the distance between the bunches is 0.25 inches (6.35mm). There is a clamp at the front of the trolley, which can be used to clamp the sample on the trolley during brushing operation. (3) Put the sample on the trolley and fix it with clamps, lift the brush, push the trolley back, put the brush on the sample surface, and then pull the trolley forward at a uniform speed by hand to clear Brush the sample.
