Analysis of Burst Time of Digital Fabric Burst Strength Meter

The digital fabric bursting strength tester is used to measure the expansion force and expansion performance of various textiles, non-woven fabrics and other materials in the warp, weft and all directions at the same time (elastic diaphragm method). Test principle: Hold the sample above the rubber diaphragm, increase the liquid volume at a constant speed, make the liquid press the diaphragm to expand, burst the sample, and the bursting strength of the sample is the difference between the liquid pressure and the elastic strength of the diaphragm. Test samples: 1. Batch sampling - as the batch sampling to be tested, a certain amount of materials that meet the performance or supply are randomly selected. 2. Laboratory Sampling - The laboratory sampling that is tested is to remove at least 1 meter from the outside of each roll sampled in the batch, and then take a cloth sample with a width of 1 meter. Circular knit fabrics or tape samples of at least 305mm wide are cut from each roll taken from the batch. 3. Test samples - take 10 samples for each sample, each sample is at least 125mm2. Test calibration: 1. Regular calibration of the tester - test five standard aluminum foils to check the tester, at least once a month. The average bursting strength of five pieces of standard aluminum foil should not exceed the value on the foil package±5%. 2. Calibration of the pressure gauge--To calibrate the pressure gauge, it should be consistent with the inclination angle during use, and use the piston type or mercury column pressure calibration method. When calibrating, leave the pressure gauge in the same position as in normal use. 3. If agreement cannot be reached, test the tester according to the instructions in Tappi Method T-403OS-74. Test steps: ① Adjust the humidity of the sample in the standard atmosphere, take a representative sample suitable for the test area, and take 3 parallel samples for each test. ②Select a diaphragm with a suitable test area, adjust the hydraulic speed, and control the bursting time within a reasonable range. ③ Load the sample on the diaphragm, so that the sample is in a no-pressure state. ④Set the equipment to zero and start it, record the bursting speed, time, height and strength, and calculate the average value. Burst time: Burst time refers to the time required for the burst process, GB/T 7742.1—In 2005, there are clear regulations on the bursting time, but the instrument cannot set the bursting time, so the specified bursting time must be realized by controlling the bursting speed. When the burst area is 7.3cm2, the relationship between the burst speed and the burst time of the three samples. The burst time and burst velocity are not linearly related, which is caused by the nonlinear stress-strain relationship within the fabric. For different fabrics, the rate of change of the bursting speed corresponding to the bursting time is different, but the general trend is that the bursting time decreases with the increase of the bursting speed, and within a small range, the bursting speed and the bursting time have a certain difference. linear relationship. Therefore, when adjusting the burst time, the desired burst time can be inferred from the results of the first test.

What Are the ISTA Standard Tests and ISTA Testing Equipment?
ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) standard tests are globally recognized transportation packaging test procedures designed to evaluate the safety and reliability of products and their packaging throughout the logistics chain. By simulating real-world transportation conditions such as drops, vibration, impact, stacking, and compression, ISTA testing helps identify potential packaging weaknesses before products enter large-scale distribution. ISTA testing equipment—including drop testers, vibration testers, incline impact machines, and compression testers—plays a critical role in accurately reproducing these conditions under laboratory settings. Proper selection and use of ISTA-compliant equipment enable manufacturers to reduce transportation damage, lower return costs, enhance packaging design, and improve customer confidence in product quality and logistics safety.
Water Resistance Testing Standards and Methods
Textile water resistance testing evaluates fabrics through three primary methods: hydrostatic pressure (measuring water penetration resistance), spray rating (assessing surface water repellency), and water repellency tests (quantifying water absorption). Hydrostatic pressure testing is critical for high-performance applications like outdoor apparel and diving gear, while spray rating evaluates surface staining for rainwear. Water repellency tests, such as the Bundesmann method, determine overall
What Are the Test Methods for Fabric Bursting Strength?
Fabric bursting strength measures resistance to rupture under concentrated load. Three primary test methods are used:

Ball Burst Method (ASTM D3787): Steel ball penetration for textiles/films using testers like GT-C02-2.

Hydraulic Method (ISO 13938.1): Fluid pressure on rubber diaphragm for industrial fabrics via GT-C12A.

Pneumatic Method (ISO 13938.2): Compressed air for breathable materials tested with GT-C12B.
