Button pull test method

The tensile strength of the button refers to the maximum load that the button on the textile and clothing can bear when the button on the textile and clothing is stretched by external force, the deformation of the seam with the fabric reaches a certain degree or the button is broken off from the fabric. Insufficient fastening of buttons will not only directly affect the wearing and use of textiles and clothing, but also cause harm to human safety and health, especially the unconscious behavior of infants and young children often lead to accidental ingestion of buttons, entry into the trachea or suffocation and other personal injuries. When the snap button is separated from the garment, its sharp claws are exposed, causing damage to the wearing.

Objective To test the fixation and adhesion strength of accessories such as buttons, buttons, five-claw buckles, snap buttons, bows, etc., especially baby and children's clothing, to define the responsibility of garment manufacturers to ensure that buttons, buttons and fasteners can be properly Fastened to garments to prevent buttons from detaching from garments, creating a chance for infants to swallow and suffocate.

Scope of application All buttons, buttons and fasteners on garments must be tested by button strength tester; at the same time, it can also test the adhesion strength of clothing, toys, shoes and other accessories after adding accessories, and loose edges will cause sharp edges, Mechanical damage such as sharp corners.

The upper and lower grips of the principle pull tester clamp the garment parts. The gripper moves at a set speed until the part falls off. The strength and pattern of shedding were recorded. The appropriate fixture can be selected according to different buttons.

Test steps

1. Clamping separation rate Set a certain holding separation rate according to the relevant standards. For example, GB/T 22704-2008 requires (100±10) mm/min

2, start the tensile tester and place the sample to adjust the position of the fixture, keep the central axis of the upper and lower fixtures, and the direction of tension are consistent. Place the sample in the center of the fixture, and ensure that the longitudinal center axis of the sample is perpendicular to the centerline of the upper and lower fixtures. When placing the sample, ensure that there is no Any damage or slippage

3. Operation of the Tensile Tester Use the Tensile Tester to record the maximum tensile force. The upper clamp pulls the part until it comes off the garment or breaks. The main damage methods are component damage, attachment method damage, and fabric damage. 4. The test results record the maximum tensile force of each sample, in Newtons, accurate to 0.1N.

More about button strength machines:

1.It is a simple but effective design mainly consisting of a high precision gauge, a sturdy required by standards & regulations is be fixed horizontally (constant force is applied to secure the sample) so that snap or other accessories attached in fabric can be clamped into.

2.Moreover, a standard weight is also offered so that it can be regularly checked if it meets the safety requirements.
