Office chair dynamic impact test of furniture tester

The office chair dynamic impact test is aimed at various types of chairs, and aims to evaluate the test chair's ability to withstand significant external impact. Next, the Jester furniture tester manufacturer will introduce to you the steps and procedures of the dynamic impact test of office chairs. 1. Office chair dynamic impact test steps 1. Place the chair on the furniture tester test platform. 2. For a chair with adjustable seat cushion height, adjust the seat cushion to the highest point. Adjust other functions to normal use conditions. If there are casters, they should be placed in the worst-case condition first (typically when the casters are at a 90 degree angle to the legs of the tripod). 3. Connect the test sand/sand bag or other fixed objects with equal impact strength to a device that allows it to fall freely on the seat cushion. 4. The free fall point of the sand/sand bag should be on the left and right sides of the seat cushion. On the central axis, and the distance from the frontmost surface of the back of the chair cannot exceed 13mm (0.5in), and the sand/sand bag cannot touch the back of the chair during the fall. 2. Office chair dynamic impact test procedure 1. Functional load test: (1) A sand/sand bag with a diameter of about 400 mm (16 in.) and a weight of 102 kg (225 lb) is suspended 152 mm above the uncompressed seat cushion ( 6in.), and then let it fall freely once. (2) Remove the sand/sand bag and evaluate the acceptance level of the product according to 3.1. (3) For chairs with adjustable seat cushion height, adjust the seat cushion to the lowest point, and then repeat steps 1 and 2. 2. Destructive load test: (1) Repeat the test steps to increase the weight of the test sand/sand bag to a destructive load of 136 kg (300 lbs). (2) Suspend the sand/sand bag at 152mm (6in.) above the uncompressed seat cushion and let it fall freely once. (3) Remove the sand/sand bag and evaluate the acceptance level of the product according to 3.2. (4) For the height-adjustable chair, adjust it to the lowest point and repeat the three tests in 1.2.3. It may also require a chair adjusted to the lowest point for testing. Note: If the second chair is used for a destructive test, it must first be adjusted to the lowest point for a functional load impact test. 3. Acceptance level 1. Functional load: The chair cannot lose its usability. 2. Destructive load: The internal structure of the chair cannot undergo sudden and major changes, and its loss of usability can be accepted. How to Test Firefighter Turnout Gear Thermal Protection?
Firefighter turnout gear plays a critical role in protecting firefighters operating in extreme environments involving high temperatures, flames, radiant heat, and convective heat. Its thermal protective performance directly affects firefighter safety and survival during fireground operations. This article explains how to test firefighter turnout gear thermal protection through Thermal Protective Performance (TPP) testing. It introduces the scientific principle based on the Stoll curve, outlines key influencing factors such as heat flux intensity and exposure time, and reviews internationally recognized standards including NFPA 1971 and ISO 17492. The article also highlights the testing advantages of the GT-RC02 TPP Thermal Protection Tester, which provides accurate, stable, and standards-compliant evaluation of flame-retardant protective clothing materials under combined radiant and convective heat exposure.
What Are the Types of Color Fastness Testing for Fabrics?
Color fastness testing evaluates how well fabrics resist fading or bleeding under conditions like washing, rubbing, light exposure, and perspiration. Key tests include rubbing fastness, washing fastness, light fastness, perspiration fastness, and sublimation fastness. These tests ensure textiles maintain color integrity, prevent health risks, and meet quality standards. Learn about different testing methods and equipment used in the textile industry.
Analysis of Pilling Influencing Factors and Testing Methods
Pilling testing plays a vital role in textile quality control, helping manufacturers evaluate and improve the wear performance of fabrics. Through the use of advanced instruments like ICI Pilling Box Test Method (GT-C18) , Martindale Abrasion Test Method (GT-C13B) , and Random Tumble Pilling Test Method (GT-C19A) , laboratories can conduct precise and standardized assessments, ensuring that final textile products deliver superior appearance, comfort, and longevity.
ISO 17694 / ISO 5402-1: Footwear Flexing Resistance Test Methods
Footwear soles and uppers endure thousands of flex cycles during use, risking premature cracking, delamination, or chipping if material resistance is inadequate. This technical analysis details two critical international standards:

1. ISO 5402-1: Specifies the flexometer method for testing leather flex resistance under repeated bending.

2. ISO 17694: Defines test methods for footwear upper and lining flex resistance, simulating real-world bending stress to assess long-term durability.

What Are the ISTA Standard Tests and ISTA Testing Equipment?
ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) standard tests are globally recognized transportation packaging test procedures designed to evaluate the safety and reliability of products and their packaging throughout the logistics chain. By simulating real-world transportation conditions such as drops, vibration, impact, stacking, and compression, ISTA testing helps identify potential packaging weaknesses before products enter large-scale distribution. ISTA testing equipment—including drop testers, vibration testers, incline impact machines, and compression testers—plays a critical role in accurately reproducing these conditions under laboratory settings. Proper selection and use of ISTA-compliant equipment enable manufacturers to reduce transportation damage, lower return costs, enhance packaging design, and improve customer confidence in product quality and logistics safety.
