Four Color Fastness Test Method for Laboratory Drying Oven

2025-05-15

The drying oven is widely used equipment in many industries. GESTER's drying oven is designed for various textiles' perspiration resistance color fastness drying tests, compatible with GT-D09 Perspiration Tester. It also apply for high temperature heating & drying test for other products.

Relevant Standards

The GT-D10 laboratory drying oven is used for testing color fastness to perspiration, seawater, water immersion, and saliva. It complies with the following standards:

Perspiration: GB/ T 3922, AATCC 15, ISO105-E04, JIS L 0848

Sea Water: GB/ T5714, ISO105-E02, AATCC107

Water: GB/ T5713, ISO105 E01, AATCC106

Saliva: GB/ T 18886

Structure

1. Chamber: Constructed with polished stainless steel for durability. Some models feature double-glazed doors for real-time observation.

2. Heater: The heater of the drying oven mainly adopts resistance wire or resistance band, and infrared emission device to ensure efficient and stable heating effect.

3. Control system: the latest PID controller, uniform air temperature distribution, forced air convection.

How to Operate

1.The accessory that need to be used is GT-D09 perspiration tester includes main frame, A and B weights, acrylic separator plates, two or more samples prepared (40*100mm), tweezers, the kit (used to hold simulated sweat ), gray scales for staining.

2.Use tweezers to place the prepared two or more specimens into the kit and soak them in the simulated sweat.

3.Take out the soaked samples, make the samples fit each other, and place an acrylic separate plate board on the top and bottom of the sample.

4.Remove the pressure plate of the perspiration tester, then place the sample on the perspiration tester, install the pressure plate back, place the required weights according to standards on the acrylic separate plate, and then fasten the fixing screws on both sides.

5.Remove the weights and place the perspiration tester inside the oven.

6.Turn on the power of the oven and set the test parameters.

7.This button is used to adjust the speed of cooling fan.

8. Click “Set”, “SP” means the setting temperature. According to the standard, we set temperature at 37 ℃. (Shif/AT button is used to move the cursor, Dec/Rst & Inc/BL used to add or subtract values) .

9.Click “Set” again, “SE” means the setting time, we set 4 hours according to the standard.

10.After setting, click “Set” again. Then machine start running. The machine starts running and starts timing when it reaches the set temperature.

11.When the set time is reached, the machine will automatically alarm and stop heating.

12.If we want to continue testing, long press “Dec/Rst” for seconds, then it will continue testing.

13.Turn off the power and take out the perspiration tester from the oven (Attention: Temperature is high, please take care to avoid scald)

14.Loosen the screws on both sides of the perspiration tester, take out the samples.

15.Use the gray scale of color staining or gray scale of color change to compare with the tested sample, then evaluate the result.
