Summarize the test steps of polyester staple fiber dry heat shrinkage

The test steps for the dry heat shrinkage of polyester staple fiber:

1. According to the requirements of the instrument manual, make preparations before the test, and make the heating tank reach the specified temperature.

2. Prepare the sample as specified in Chapter 7.

3. From the sample that has been adjusted and balanced, randomly select 20 fibers into 1 bundle, take 2 bundles in total, and arrange them separately to make one end neat. During the finishing process, the fibers shall not be stretched by accidental tension.

4. Clamp a bundle of finished fibers into the holder, and hang down the specified pre-tension clamp. Hang the tension clamp on the small hook of the holder, and insert the holder into the sliding groove.

5. Turn on the measurement switch, move the holder to make the fiber bundle at the position of the light hole, gently put down the tension clamp on the small hook with tweezers, adjust the reading handwheel, as long as its length is between 19.5 and 20 mm. If the deviation is large, the position of the tension clamp can be adjusted appropriately so that when the marking line on the projection screen is tangent to the flat opening of the tension clamp, write down the value Lo (^ to 0.01 mm) on the reading handwheel, remove the load, and change The tension clamp is hung on the small hook again, and the Lo (^ to 0.01 mm) of the second beam is measured by moving the clamp.

6. Raise the heating tank so that all the holders are placed in the heating tank, close the cover, turn on the heating switch, and record the time when the temperature of the heating tank rises to 180℃. When 30 minutes, turn off the heating switch and open the cover After the heater is cooled to room temperature, press

7. Operation to measure the L1 (^ to 0.01 mm) of the two bundles of fibers.

What Are the ISTA Standard Tests and ISTA Testing Equipment?
ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) standard tests are globally recognized transportation packaging test procedures designed to evaluate the safety and reliability of products and their packaging throughout the logistics chain. By simulating real-world transportation conditions such as drops, vibration, impact, stacking, and compression, ISTA testing helps identify potential packaging weaknesses before products enter large-scale distribution. ISTA testing equipment—including drop testers, vibration testers, incline impact machines, and compression testers—plays a critical role in accurately reproducing these conditions under laboratory settings. Proper selection and use of ISTA-compliant equipment enable manufacturers to reduce transportation damage, lower return costs, enhance packaging design, and improve customer confidence in product quality and logistics safety.
