The role of standard fabrics in the pilling test by random tumble method of fabrics

Fabric random tumbling method pilling test is a commonly used testing method in the textile industry. At present, different countries have different requirements for fabric random tumbling method pilling test standards. This article is based on GB/T 4802.4-2009 and ASTM D3512-07 , laboratory standard fabric used to calibrate newly installed pillboxes or cork liners for contamination. The specific use cases are as follows: It is used to check whether the test chamber can operate normally. 1. Use the standard fabric in the laboratory to complete the pilling test, because the test results of the standard fabric are known in advance. If there is a large deviation between the sample and the predetermined test results during the rating, it indicates that there is a problem with the test. Frequently used instruments should be checked at least once a week. Infrequent use, check before testing. 2. The random tumbling method is generally not used to test samples treated with silicone, easily sticky materials, and fabrics with unknown finishing methods. Because during the test, the treatment residue of the fabric is easy to contaminate the surface of the cork liner, thus affecting the test results. When testing such fabrics, it is necessary to use laboratory standard samples for auxiliary evaluation. The test samples are first tested according to the test methods in the standard. A comparative test was then performed on the used pad surface with a standard fabric. If the cork liner is soiled, the results of this test with the standard fabric will be different from the results of the test with the standard fabric on the unsoiled surface of the liner. After the test, the test results were recorded twice, and the cork liner was cleaned or replaced with a new one.
