Screw comparison of testing machine

The lead screw is one of the accessories of the testing machine. The common lead screws in the market are ball screw and trapezoidal screw. 1. Economical

From the previous and current situation, the ball screw is still more expensive than the trapezoidal screw because of its more complicated structure. However, with the more automation equipment and production increases,, the price difference is getting smaller and smaller

The surface damage of rolling friction is much smaller than that of sliding friction, so when cleaning and lubrication conditions are met, the maintenance life of ball screw is much higher than that of trapezoidal screw.

3. self-locking

The self-locking property is generally inversely proportional to the transmission efficiency. Therefore, the ball screw has almost no self-locking property, while the trapezoidal screw has a certain degree of self-locking (depending on the size of the lead angle and the roughness of the working surface).

4. Transmission speed

Ball screw is rolling friction, trapezoidal screw is sliding friction, the temperature rise of the former is much lower than the latter, so it can undertake the task of high-speed transmission.

5. Transmission efficiency

The transmission efficiency of ball screw is about 90~96%, and that of trapezoidal screw is about 26~46%. That is, if the same large load is driven, the ball screw can use a smaller driving power, such as a smaller power motor, which can reduce costs and energy consumption.
