Introduction of single yarn strength tester
Single Yarn Strength Tester determines breaking strength and elongation of single cotton, wool and other yarns up to 50 N. Yarn Strength Tester complies with yarn strength testing methods like ASTM D2256, ISO2062, GB/T14344, etc.
Single yarn strength tester works on the principle of constant rate of elongation with pneumatic base which is powered by micro controller; it’s a semi automatic user friendly instrument, its traverse speed and specimen length setting can be adjusted through data entry, quick lowering of upper jaw results fast testing.
A tensile test is conducted to determine the tensile strength of industrial thread and yarn. Tensile strength refers to the ability of a material to withstand force (pulling or otherwise). This strength test is usually measured in units of force per cross-sectional area.
When working with industrial thread and yarn, tensile strength typically refers to the strength and elongation properties of a particular material. A material’s resistance to breaking under tensile stress is one of the most important and highly-measured properties of materials used in applications such as wire and cable, geotextiles, tarps, web slings and more.

Applications of single yarn strength tester :
Electronic Single Yarn Strength Tester is used to test the breaking strength and elongation percentage of various cotton, wool, linen, silk, chemical fiber, core-spun single yarn, pure or blending natural or chemical fiber yarns.
Features of yarn strength testing machine:
Working pattern is CRE principle
Automatic feeding of yarn, and automatic clamping for the test, fast and without damages to yarn
Fitted with Waste yarn collecting device, to make labs clean
Tensile Test: ASTM D2256
ASTM D2256 is a testing standard designed to measure the tensile properties of threads and yarns. This test method is by far the most common specification that is followed for determining the breaking strength, elongation, and energy of threads, yarns, or other single strand textiles. This is a relatively simple tensile test whereby the material is pulled at a constant rate of speed until it breaks. The specimen can be tested in three different physical configurations: straight, knotted, or looped.ASTM D2256 is designated as Tensile Properties of Yarns by the Single-Strand Method, which can apply to any industrial yarn. ASTM D2256 standard calls for 12 inches per minute using a 10 inch sample length.
