Introduction to infant textile quality requirements

Infants and children are the flowers and hopes of the motherland, so during their growth, the quality and safety of related products need to be paid special attention. The recent hot issues about melamine were also first discovered from infant milk powder. People will naturally think of whether there will be problems with clothing that is also closely related to the growth of infants and young children. With the continuous improvement of living standards, people's requirements for clothing products are not only satisfied with the previous strong and durable categories, but also the characteristics of wearing comfort and green environmental protection are getting more and more attention. Compared with adults, infants and young children have stricter requirements on clothing, especially in terms of safety and hygiene, due to their particularity. 1. China's infant and children's clothing related quality requirements. Currently, the standards related to infants and children's clothing products mainly include: National Mandatory Standard GB18401-2003 'National Textile Safety Technology and Regulations' and GB5296.4-1998 'Use of Consumer Goods' Instructions for use of textiles and clothing; product standards (such as FZ/T81003-2003 'children's clothing, school uniforms/T 73021-2004 'Knitted Student ClothesAromatic amine, pH value, peculiar smell, color fastness to water, color fastness to rubbing, color fastness to perspiration, color fastness to saliva, labeling, fiber content and physical performance testing of related products, etc. 2. At present, Chinese infants and young children Status of clothing-related quality Before and after Children’s Day in 2008, local quality inspection and industry departments including Shanghai, Guangzhou, Zhejiang, Shandong and other provinces and cities, as well as the State Administration of Quality Supervision, respectively conducted product quality inspections on infant clothing retail Action. From the information released by the quality supervision departments of governments at all levels, although the product sampling pass rate varies from place to place, the product quality problems are mostly concentrated in fiber content, pH value, azo dyes, clothing instructions, and formaldehyde. There are 6 aspects of release content and color fastness. 1. Many companies have insufficient knowledge of standards and product quality, or do not have testing methods and are unwilling to go to the inspection agency for testing, or are driven by profits, resulting in wrong or disorderly standards. The phenomenon of ingredient content is not uncommon. The actual cotton content of some products is far less than the nominal value, and some deliberately increase the content of high-end fiber, or even the label is completely unrealistic. Obviously, the greater consideration here is the integrity of the company. 2 The pH value of human skin can prevent the invasion of germs when the human skin is weakly acidic. Therefore, the pH value (acid-base) of the textile is between slightly acidic and neutral to protect the human body. If the pH value in the textile is too high or too low, It will destroy the balance and resistance of the skin, and is susceptible to the invasion of germs. The delicate skin of infants and young children is more vulnerable. According to the mandatory standard GB 18401-2003, the pH value of infant clothing and textiles that directly contact the skin is limited to 4.0-7.5 However, some related products were found to have a pH value of as high as 9.3 during random inspections. The main reason for the unqualified is that the clothing manufacturers have weak awareness of the safety performance and quality of the raw materials. At the same time, the dyeing and finishing process of the manufacturers is very important for pure cotton products and high-proportion cotton blended products. The pH is not strictly controlled, and the neutralization is not timely or insufficient after the alkali treatment in the production, or the cleaning is not complete. 3, Azo dyes, clothing dyed with azo dyes forbidden, will cause cancer after long-term contact with human skin Fang After a series of activation, aromatic amine compounds will become the inducement of human body pathological changes, which is very harmful to the body. The reason is that in order to pursue the beauty of the pattern and color, the fabric manufacturers intentionally or unintentionally added azo dyes containing decomposable aromatic amines in the production, and most garment manufacturers do not have detection methods themselves, and they did not commission inspections when purchasing goods. The department conducted this test, causing harmful products to flow into the market. 4. Instructions for the use of clothing GB 5296.4-1998 'Instructions for the use of textiles and clothing' mandatory standards have been promulgated and implemented for many years. The standards clearly stipulate that textile products must be marked with the following content: the name and address of the product manufacturer; the product name; the product Models and specifications; ingredients and content of raw materials used; washing methods; product implementation standards; product quality grades; product quality inspection certificates, etc. There are a considerable number of products with random labeling of fiber components, no product quality levels, irregular product specifications, inaccurate product implementation standards, inaccurate product numbers and incorrect product washing symbols, which are misleading to consumers.
