FMVSS 302 American flame retardant test common standard analysis


FMVSS 302-Automobile interior material burning test As the main vehicle at present, due to the large number of passengers, the high risk of fire and the longer escape time, the requirements for the flame retardant and fireproof performance of automobile interiors are relatively high. FMVSS 302 Flammability of materials is suitable for passenger cars, multi-purpose passenger vehicles, trucks and buses. 


FMVSS 302 Automotive interior materials flame retardant test, fire test-test method FMVSS 302 sample requirements: sample size and quantity: 102mm×356mm×thickness (the thickness of the sample in the actual application of the car, but not more than 13mm, if more than 13 mm, cut into 13 mm.) At least 5 samples, if there are different burning speeds in different directions, at least 5 samples in each direction should be sampled in different directions. If the size of the material does not meet the requirements of the test, a sample that meets the requirements of the test shall be made. FMVSS 302 test requirements: 


1. The sample does not burn, or the flame burning horizontally on the sample does not exceed 102mm/min (Note: When the sample surface is cut out, this judgment requirement does not apply to testing the surface flame horizontal burning Speed,); 

2. Starting from the test timing, if the sample burns for less than 60 seconds, it stops burning, and the damage length of the sample does not exceed 51mm from the position where the timing starts, it is considered to meet FMVSS302 Claim. (Note: The starting position of the timing is 38mm away from the ignition end. When the fire reaches this position, the timing starts.)
