How to control the shrinkage of textiles

The shrinkage rate of textiles has always been a problem that plagues textile companies: the percentage of textiles that shrink after washing or immersion in water. In response to the shrinkage rate, the national standards for textile products made clear provisions as early as 2004: the washing size change rate of superior textile products cannot exceed 2%–3%, and the first-class products cannot exceed 2%–4%. Qualified products cannot exceed 2%-5%. The root cause of the shrinkage rate as the “old problem” Looking at the entire testing-equipment' target='_blank'>textile industry, the current domestic textile market, whether it is a small workshop or a formal brand enterprise, basically does not indicate the 'shrinkage rate' on the product packaging; is this the so-called Is the textile weaving industry collectively negligent? It is understood that if you want to control the shrinkage rate of textiles, you must go through a pre-shrinking pre-treatment or post-finishing process. This process requires a certain amount of expenditure regardless of the process flow or the professional and technical personnel. At present, domestic textile and textile shrinkage testing is a must-test item, especially for textile export companies. There are more textile companies exporting to the European and American textile markets. Textile shrinkage testing services generally use American standard shrinkage washing machines or European standards. Different countries have different testing requirements for washing machines with standard shrinkage rates or European standards and Japanese standards. Generally, textile companies have special departments responsible for textile shrinkage testing and other index testing departments. Of course, it is also feasible to entrust a third-party testing agency to perform the testing and then present the testing certificate. These are all tests that prove that the shrinkage rate of textiles cannot be resolved. The shrinkage rate of textiles is caused by materials, production processes and later use, so it is necessary to start with these aspects. To solve the shrinkage problem of textiles, companies should address the following aspects: 1. Qualified fabrics: When purchasing fabrics according to customer needs, manufacturers must check the quality of the fabrics. The purchased fabrics must be tested because of the quality of the fabrics. It directly affects the shrinkage rate of finished products, prompting upstream and downstream enterprises to pay attention to it. 2. Strict process: In the production process, the manufacturer should pay attention to the finishing process, so that the shrinkage rate of the fabric after the pre-shrinking treatment can be effectively controlled within the standard or customer requirements. 3. Strengthen self-inspection and self-control: before the finished product leaves the factory, the inspection should be strengthened, and the 'shrinkage rate' should be marked on the product label according to the requirements, so that consumers can better understand the details of the product, and accept inspection, so that it can be continuously strengthened and improved . Common worsted woolen cloth: shrinkage rate is 4% in warp direction and 3.5% in weft direction; silk crepe de chine: shrink rate is 10% in warp direction and 3% in weft direction. How to correctly grasp the shrinkage rate of different clothing materials? First of all, find out what the shrinkage rate is. The shrinkage rate refers to the percentage of fabric shrinkage after the clothes are soaked and washed. The shrinkage rate is closely related to the fiber characteristics of the clothing material, the structure of the fabric and the production and processing process. The material is a very important internal factor that causes the shrinkage rate of the textile, but the shrinkage rate of the textile during the production and use process is also normal. However, how to reduce the shrinkage rate of textiles requires more specific operations with different materials and processes.
