Precautions for washing color fastness test

Washing or soaping fastness refers to the degree of color change of dyed fabrics after washing with washing liquid. The gray graded sample card is usually used as the evaluation standard, that is, the color difference between the original sample and the faded sample is used for judgment. The washing fastness is divided into 5 grades, grade 5 is the best and grade 1 is the worst. The fabrics with poor washing fastness should be dry-cleaned. If they are wet-washed, the washing conditions should be paid extra attention, such as the washing temperature should not be too high and the washing time should not be too long. So, what matters should be paid attention to when doing washing color fastness test? 1. Determine the type of fabric to be produced. Carry out a careful analysis of the samples from the customer, determine the type of cloth used in the production of bulk goods, cut each piece of cloth together and sew together, mark it, and require a trial wash based on the washing water, and also the shrinkage of the trial cloth. For ready-to-wear denim sent by the garment factory to be washed, the goods must be inspected to see if there are stains, holes, cloth defects, pinholes, lathes, and excessive thread ends. 2, pilot test/test cylinder. In order to finally decide on the mass product formula, usually 50 samples are washed in the pilot test. After the department confirms that it is correct, the back-end inspector will check it again. The mass product can only be produced when the genuine product rate reaches 98%. If there is any problem, report to the relevant department in time. 3. Produce bulk goods. Because the washing tank volume and bath ratio used for washing samples and goods are different, the color of the cloth will be different, so the washing water formula must be revised. The same batch of goods must be washed in a tank and dried and all checked, and then washed after there is no problem. One tank, the cycle is carried out, and it is never allowed to dry and inspect after all washing is completed. If there is any problem, analyze and deal with the problem on the spot, and report to the relevant department in time. 4. Make a board/test a sample. Wash samples in the plate washer/plate vat according to the customer's requirements. For any type, 10 samples must be sampled first. After drying, they will be approved by the department and then confirmed by the company's corresponding documentary personnel. After the authenticity rate reaches 100%, the sample can be carried out. If there is a problem, it can be improved in time. During the trial wash process, each wash formula parameter that was changed should be kept, and the cloth samples before wash should be archived.

What Are the ISTA Standard Tests and ISTA Testing Equipment?
ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) standard tests are globally recognized transportation packaging test procedures designed to evaluate the safety and reliability of products and their packaging throughout the logistics chain. By simulating real-world transportation conditions such as drops, vibration, impact, stacking, and compression, ISTA testing helps identify potential packaging weaknesses before products enter large-scale distribution. ISTA testing equipment—including drop testers, vibration testers, incline impact machines, and compression testers—plays a critical role in accurately reproducing these conditions under laboratory settings. Proper selection and use of ISTA-compliant equipment enable manufacturers to reduce transportation damage, lower return costs, enhance packaging design, and improve customer confidence in product quality and logistics safety.
