Leather heel surface wear test method

my country’s current standard for leather shoe heels, QB/T 3643-1999 'Leather Heel Surfaces1. Commonly used wear resistance test methods At present, the wear resistance test of shoe sole materials usually includes GB/T 3903.2-2008 'General test methods for footwear wear resistanceDetermination of performance (rotating roller abrasion machine method)Companies and quality inspection departments adopt five test methods including the Tianpi Abrasion Test Method of Dongguan Hengyu Instrument Company. Among them, GB/T 1689-1998 'Determination of Abrasion Resistance of Vulcanized Rubber (Using Akron Abrasion Machine)' is applicable to vulcanized rubber, which is not applicable to plastic and polyurethane materials widely used in women's shoe soles. The ASTM D1630-2006 'NBS Rubber Abrasion Performance' method requires a large sample size, which cannot be achieved by many women's heel surfaces, and the sample surface is required to be flat, and it is difficult for general shoe soles to meet the requirements, so this method is not suitable Abrasion test of heel surface material. The other three methods are theoretically feasible for wear testing on the leather heel surface, but the specific results require further experiments. 2. Experimental method: Conduct wear resistance experiments on the three kinds of heel surface materials with different test methods, compare and analyze the test results, and select one of the most widely applicable heel surface materials test methods. Then use the selected method to conduct a physical test on the wear resistance of the specified heel surface material. At the same time, use the same material to make the heel surface of the shoe for a try-on experiment, and compare the physical test results with the actual try-on results. To verify the feasibility and accuracy of the test method. 1. Comparison of different test methods ⑴ GB/T 3903.2-2008 'General Test Methods for Footwear, Wear Resistance' was used for testing. Test principle: The rotating grinding wheel is vertically pressed on the sample, and the abrasion test is performed on the sample under specific conditions. The length of the wear scar of the sample is measured to indicate the wear resistance of the sample. ⑵ Use GB/T 9867-2008 'Determination of Abrasion Resistance of Vulcanized Rubber or Thermoplastic Rubber (Rotating Roller Abrasion Machine Method)' for testing. Test principle: Measure the amount of abrasion caused by rubbing a cylindrical sample on a certain level of gauze and within a certain distance on a specified contact pressure and a certain area. ⑶ Adopt Dongguan Hengyu Instrument Co., Ltd. Tianpi Abrasion Test Method 'Tianpi Abrasion Test Implementation Rules' for testing. Test principle: Put the leather heel surface material on sandpaper, and rub it under the conditions of specified load and rubbing times to measure its abrasion thickness. 2. Verification of the selected test method ⑴ The physical test experiment adopts the wear resistance test method of the heel surface material selected in the experiment of the previous step, and conducts the wear resistance test on the heel surface materials of 7 different materials, and records the results. result. ⑵ Try-on experiment Use the same 7 kinds of heel surface materials as the above physical test experiment to make the heel surface of the shoe, and perform the try-on experiment on the finished shoe. Among them, the heel surfaces of 3 materials were installed on the same style of women's shoes to make 12 pairs of shoes for 4 female testers with standard feet. Each tester tried on 3 pairs of women's shoes with different heel surfaces. Four pairs of men's shoes were made from four other types of heel surface materials, which were tried on by a male tester with a standard foot shape. The try-on time is 2 months, during which each pair of shoes will be worn in rotation. The try-on environment is the daily life environment, including daily work, home, and outings, but does not include special environments such as sports and travel. ⑶ Physical test results and try-on experiment comparison The results of the physical test and the try-on experiment are compared to verify the feasibility and accuracy of the wear resistance test of the heel surface material with the selected test method. 3. Conclusion Through the comparison of the physical performance test results of several test methods and the comparison with the test wear test results, it can be seen that GB/T 9867-2008 'Determination of the wear resistance of vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber (rotating roller type) Abrasion machine method)' method is suitable for testing a variety of leather heel surface materials. The results of this research can provide a basis for formulating relevant method standards and provide guidance for quality control in actual production of enterprises.

Water Resistance Testing Standards and Methods
Textile water resistance testing evaluates fabrics through three primary methods: hydrostatic pressure (measuring water penetration resistance), spray rating (assessing surface water repellency), and water repellency tests (quantifying water absorption). Hydrostatic pressure testing is critical for high-performance applications like outdoor apparel and diving gear, while spray rating evaluates surface staining for rainwear. Water repellency tests, such as the Bundesmann method, determine overall
